Mattioli Engineering
International Manufacturer

Mattioli Engineering developed its first Microdermabrasion System in 1991 and established the company that same year. The founders have been working in the medical industry since 1980. The company’s extensive experience in the medical and cosmetic field enables them to develop features which are protected by patented rights exclusively to Mattioli Engineering. Their presence in the USA market accounts for more than 1,500 Ultrapeel® microdermabrasion units installed and the international market with more than 4,000 units sold. Mattioli Engineering has been inspected and is compliant with the GMP rules.

Mattioli Engineering opened the American microdermabrasion market in 1996 when it introduced its Ultrapeel® Crystal and Ultrapeel® Pepita Microdermabraders. Introduction of the new proprietary Dermoelectroporation® technology  is a powered drug delivery system indicated for the local administration of ionic drug solutions into the body for medical purposes, was cleared by FDA in late 2003.

Dermoelectroporation® is the only transdermal delivery device FDA cleared as an alternative to injections.

Transdermal delivery is not a new concept to the US. For many years, technologies such as DC Current, Iontophoresis, Electroporation, and Ultrasound have been providing the benefits of transdermal delivery, however, they all had their own limitations.

So that you have a better understanding of how we developed our newest technology, Dermoelectroporation® , we thought we would provide you with the limits of the existing technologies first. Read about the science here.
